MJP Grandparent, Lynn Raffensperger approached Rivkie after our talent show and shared her reflection, “You have created a village.” She reminisced about her childhood, when the neighborhood would gather. Children with talents would put on a show and all the neighbors would gather and cheer them on. There was the most special feeling from those gatherings; the sense of community, of warmth of being there for one another.
This is what indeed what was felt as our community came together on Monday evening to celebrate the strengths and talents of each other. We became the place where every child is a whole world! We lived our value and belief that every child is created in the image of G-d and is seen by their unique strengths and talents. Our village showed our respect to the fact that each child brings unique gifts to share so that every member in our preschool will flourish and grow.

The confidence and joy our children displayed, the love and respect in the audience participation and the joyful participation of extended families, community members, and alumni contributed to the beauty and meaning of the night.
Dovi is new to MJP. He has been here for a little more than a week and is in the beginning stages of getting to know his new friends and us getting to know him. Dovi, although a bit hesitant at first, made the choice to go on stage share his talent of singing the Alef Bet.

Charlotte in the Toddler room brought her Ukulele. Her father sat with her and the audience clapped and cheered singing along as she began to strum her instrument. Ellie in the K3 sang her heart out to “Let it go”, and when she was done, danced up and down with joy and said, “I did it as the audience cheered for her success.
