Every year our school chooses a theme that leads our pedagogical approach in different areas and initiatives, including our Shalach Manot. This year is unique in the Jewish calendar; it is called Hakhel (Gathering). We have therefore chosen Hakhel as this year's pedagogical theme.
The Jewish calendar follows a seven year cycle, which is followed by Hakhel (Gathering). The Lubavitcher Rebbe said that the "Hakhel Year" is an opportune time to promote unity, and he encouraged us to utilize this auspicious time to create opportunities for gatherings. We have therefore imbued this year's curriculum with this message, to encourage us all to live this value of gathering and togetherness.
Our Shalach Manot package this year is about traveling--as we do to be together, and as we will all do for the time when all the nations will gather: the time of Moshiach.
We invite you to join the MJP community and participate in sending these packages. By selecting names from our list, or adding names of others that you would like to include, we offer an easy and fun way to partake in this unique Purim tradition.
Your participation in this project also provides an opportunity to share increased Tzedakah during the holiday, as all proceeds go directly to our preschool.
Thank you in advance for your support and wishing you and your families a joyous holiday,
